This route was created over 150 years ago by camels and thier handlers from Afghanistan. Since then, this permanent trail is now one of the best ways to experience the heart of Australia. Twice weekly, The Ghan goes from Adelaide to Darwin or from Darwin to Adelaide, you can enjoy the trail in either direction. Experience this living legend by spending two nights on board and see the colorful outback of Adelaide, Alice Spring's Uluru (Ayers Rock) in the Red Centre, and the tropical environment of Darwin. Off-train touring is also available on The Ghan for Gold Kangaroo passengers upon reaching Alice Springs. Typically, Red Kangaroo passengers don't have the off-train tour option. However, in the event that there is space on the tour, Red Kangaroo passengers will be given the opportunity to purchase a ticket for the tour. Connections are available on the Indian Pacific and The Overland for guests traveling to or from Sydney and Melbourne. Soon, we will have Platinum Class service. Please check back for more details.
